Ezio and Icarus' Kitty Diary
A website diary for our two wonderful cats, Ezio and Icarus.
Finished big bag of Tuna - switched to boxed Tuna bought at the weekend.
Icarus was being fairly forceful about wanting headpats and hugs which I was sat on the sofa this evening - which is unusual for him, but not for his brother Ezio.
We love the kitties very much.
We love the kitties very much.
Bought new dry foods packs; Tuna, Duck, and Lamb. Kitties ok, we love them very much.
We love the kitties very much. Fed them tuna twice instead of opening a new pack. Mowed the lawn at the back. Hannah found a crying cat at the rear and tried to feed it some snacks. It darted to te compost heap and waited tentatively. Our cats both tripped over each other trying to get to the window to take a look.
Finished the bag of Duck; bought in some new flavours of dry food to try out. Keeping the portions the same. Hannah things they are adorable and fluffy; sometimes too fluffy. We fed them early yesterday before heading out for the evening.
We love the kitties very much.

Had a visit from my parents; cats were fine with the attention. They sniffed around while my parents were eating food. We made good progress on the front garden; pulling up weeds and cutting back the overgrown plants to the side of the garden.
We love the kitties very much.

We love the kitties very much.
Let the cats out for 10 minutes. Hannah got a bit nervous when Icarus headed around the side of the house. She went out front and found him near the road. She tempted him back in with snacks and picked him up. Ezio got as far as the compost heap and ran in when he heard Hannah come back through.
Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow. Meow.

Kitties... very much. No problem with either Ezio or Icarus. They're still play fighting once I start preparing the food. We've been giving them lots of attention in the evenings. They ate their food ok, they seem to have settled on eating the dry food quickly without issue. Pooping normally. This batch of litter seems a bit drier and powdery, might be due to the warmth and humidity at the moment.

Poop, cleaned out, opened back window. After eating, found Ezio wigglebutt.exe next to kitchen window - a magpie was dancing around the fence and the roof of the next house - I assume doing some sort of mating or territorial display. Ezio was quite entranced.
The cats got me two wonderful Father's day cards today. Icarus joked about barfing his fluff over the floor. Ezio called me his skin dad. Ew. Still haven't figured out how they're able to order things off the internet. They've been eating their food no problems.

Ezio, is being nuzzly as always. Icarus has had fun hunting for food
Hannah thinks that they don't care about their names at all.
We got home late, and fed them late, but they were still adorable and Hannah loves them.
Hannah thinks they're starting to learn their own names, responding to them be called.

Caught the train down to Wales to meet Hannah, so fed the cats extra in the morning, then drove back home the same day, and fed them the usual amount in the evening.
We love the kitties very much. Just me in the house with the cats, spent time sat with them cuddling up to them.
We love the kitties very much. Fed them at the normal times, and headed for town. We were back late from the cinema, gave them some attention before going to bed.

We found some cat vommit on the floor in the morning. There was a big slug like thing which turned out to be a hair ball of Icarus fur. Perhaps he was struggling to throw this up on Monday.
We love the kitties very much. Some play fighting while prepping food, both morning and evening. They sit opposite each other and make swipes at each other's faces, before getting distracted by food again. They've been playing a lot lately, but also coming in for hugs and head pats while we're sat on the sofa watching TV.
We love the kitties very much. Found some foamy vomit on the floor.

We love the kitties very much. We asked our friends to pop over and feed the kitties while we were on a day trip to a boardgames expo. Their food was measured out in advanced, and put into bowls. Water needed refilling, its been warm and humid.
We love the kitties very much. Watched the kitties play hide and seek with each other. They both assummed semi-hidden pouncing positions from each other, and then lept out as the other cat walked by.
We love the kitties very much. Some fighting, running around.
We love the kitties very much. Warm and humid, lots of meowing.

We love the kitties very much.

We love the kitties very much.
We love the kitties very much. Right now they're curled up alongside us snoring away. They had a busy morning running around the house.
We stayed in the house most the day, giving the cats the run of the house in the morning. There were morning nuzzles after letting them upstairs.
Had friends over to play board games. The cats were very well behaved and didn't seemed scared at all with the visitors. Gave them ( the cats ) the option of wandering upstairs while we played. The cats themselves were quite happy by our feat, and Ezio jumped up on my lap mid game for hugs, but neither tried to get onto the table at any point.
We love the kitties very much, Icarus was having a good stretch on the cat tower. While I was cleaning the front room they seemed a little bit spooked by the vacuum as I approached.
We love the kitties very much. Managed to clean out the kitchen and tidy away some of the fluff that had been collecting. Kitties got lots of hugs and cuddles later while we curled up infront of the TV.
We love the kitties very much. Icarus and Ezio crunched down their food without much issue. Ezio is the faster eater.
We love the kitties very much. Started feeding the kitties dried fish from iceland in small chunks.
On Sunday, the weather seemed good outside. Dry, not too sunny or hot. We made the decision to let them venture out into the garden for about an hour. They tentatively wandered out through the kitchen door into the grassy garden out back. After dissapearing through to the back, across the threshold of the compost heap, we left them to it, while I went out to wash the car. After about 45 minutes Ezio came back. We let him wander the upstairs while waiting for Icarus to return. Icarus returned about 15 minutes later covered in dust. Where he found dust outside we're not sure.
We love the kitties very much. We spent the day cooking and cleaning, which meant the cats got lots of attention.

Birthday! Gave Ezio and Icarus some catnip before work. Set up the dinosaur plushies and pillows. We were home a bit later then usual, but made sure to feed them a tiny bit extra, give them hugs, and sing them happy birthday.
Kitties settled back in well. Gave them lots of hugs, and they fell asleep alongside us on the sofa while we watched TV.
Stayed at Newgate Kennels Cattery. Picked them up at 3:45pm after returning home from Scotland. Very warm today, 22oC outside. Icarus pooped early on into the car ride, but we got them back to the house ok. Unfortunately there was poop all down the back of Icarus' legs; we managed to get him in the sink and wash him down with cold water. Had to throw a stained top out, and clean out the poop from the fabric cat carrier. Fed them some milk once they'd settled and had an explore of their surroundings. Ezio lapped up most the milk since Icarus was still cleaning himself down.

Dropped Ezio and Icarus off at Newgate Kennels Cattery in the morning, arriving just before opening time. Staff at Check In desk quietly whisked our cats away to their new accomodation while we filled in the paperwork. Got them to fill out a feeding card for each day of their stay. Icarus pooped on the way down, towards the end of the journey. There were some sad meows from Hannah after we lost sight of them.

We love the kitties very much. We made sure that both of them had chance to curl up with us and have plenty of petting before we take them to the cattery for a holiday tommorrow.
We love the kitties very much.

Icarus is moulting like there is no tomorrow. Fed Icarus wet food in the evening and Ezio his preferred dry food all day.
Spent the day in with the cats. We love the kitties very much. Ezio refused to touch his wet food, instead licking the gel off and leave the chunks to his brother. We topped him up with dry food but tried not to over feed Icarus. We had chance to give Icarus lots of hugs and cuddles throughout the day.
Opted to feed Ezio dry food and Icarus wet food today, both morning and evening.
Hannah gave the cats some big hugs this morning before heading to work. No problems with them eating their food. Later that evening I measured out 50ml of milk for both of them.

We love the cats very much. Slightly late feeding the cats, spent an hour this evening sat with them on the sofa while watching TV. Lots of hugs. Changed the litter after feeding.

The kitties went crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunching their food down this morning.

Kitties! We love them very much, and give them hugs and head scritches, and vacuum up all the hairs they leave around, and give them catnip balls to roll around the house.

Kitties! We love them very much. Lots of poop. I gave a long description to Hannah about the amount and colour of poop when she got home.
Kitties! We love them very much.
Catnip for the kitties today. They've been very lively this morning running around the place, climbing onto the cat tower and leaping up to the windowsill. Hannah fed them milk around lunch time which they lapped up. Then they got up on the counter and lapped up the milk left in the jug.
Hannah put their collars back on today. Ezio refused to eat his duck (15g of 100g), so we put it away and fed him Dry Chicken instead.
We love the kitties very much. We let them upstairs. Hannah put the collars on for the first time. They seemed fairly comfortable, the bells ring as they wander around. I took the collars off before they went to bed.
They had milk, and catnip, in a ball, that rolled around, and the cats rolled around, and there were lasers, and there was meowing. Lots of meowing. Hannah's mum visited, Ezio was well behaved.
Really tired this morning; opted to feeding them both just wet food to see how Ezio would get on without crispy bits again.
We popped home to feed the cats and get changed after work. We weren't home until late. They were meowing loudly after we tried to get to sleep. I sat down with them both for 10 minutes giving them cuddles to settle them before going to bed again.

Ezio didn't finish the salmon chunks, but still chomped down the biscuits and ate most the gel in the morning. No problems in the evening.
Ezio finished up his food a bit slower than Icarus, but not far behind. Icarus lept up on the counter by the microwave to assess the situation.
Icarus was bullying Ezio over his food this morning. We saw them fighting a bit midday, with Icarus chasing Ezio around. Icarus finished Ezio's food again this evening.
Fed at 8:35. Cats had the run of the house over night. I got licked on the nose many many times during the night. Fed them milk as well.
Bit late feeding them this morning (8:47am) confused them a bit by closing them in the front room, then had to open the door to get their bowls, they scarpered through, and then I had to take them back through. Once the mix of food was prepared, I opened the door and they scarpered through again, but this time I walked through and put the bowls down in the front room - they soon caught on.
Forgot to turn the lights off last night before going to bed; not sure how well the cats slept. Lots of moewing this morning while I was getting ready upstairs. Coaxed them into the living room while preparing their food in the kitchen; a mix of dry food and a pouch. They both ate their food quickly, Icarus finishing first. Ezio spent a bit longer licking around the edge of his bowl until finally finishing the last few chunks.
Icarus seems to be pooping again ok. I watched him poop out the corner of my eye. It was kind of disgusting and fascinating. But he definitely pooped. I think any scare of him eating the meat absorbent pad has gone now.
Small amount of stinky poop from Icarus. Its possible that his stomach feels quite uncomfortable at the moment. Ate his food again ok this morning. Tried mixing the wet food with the dry food to get Ezio to eat all his food - seemed to work; ate at the same speed as his brother.
Very stinky poop; we think that its Icarus. Ate food ok in morning and evening. Felt ok to go out for the evening. Found some greenish cat sick on the floor that we mopped up with kitchen roll and a sponge. Mostly liquid, no sign of solids.
Kitties! They woke up in the bedroom around 6am this morning, and jumped over Hannah. We tidied the house and mopped the floor, giving them the run of the place for a bit before keeping them in the front room until we'd finished tidying up.
Had an issue with Icarus in the evening; he nabbed a absorbent meat pad out of the sink, and defended it while sounding like a motorbike. We incorrectly assumed he wouldn't be able to eat it, so left him to it while we finished our food. He wandered back in 10 minutes later quite calmy, with no sign of the absorbent pad. Hannah called the pet insurance line, and we did some reading online, but we opted to keep an eye on him. He was a bit dozey after this, but proceeded to eat his evening food.
We are very concerned that the pad could cause a blockage in his stomach. We had hoped he'd throw it up, but to no avail.
Hannah opted to feed both cats a measured amount of dry food. Ezio nommed it down faster then Icarus for once. We tidied up upstairs and let them roam the house while were waking up. Lots of meowing was had. Ezio was basically forcing himself on us for head scritches.
Ezio was slow eating again, kept him away from his brother in the morning. In the evening we fed them early, I sat with Ezio and watched him eat. He seemed distracted by almost everything but didn't step away from the bowl. We were out for most the evening and didn't get to play with them.

Ezio just licking the gel off his food again. Taking much longer to eat his food, and then giving up on the remains.
Ezio slow eating again this morning; leaving him to it downstairs in a separate room to Icarus.
Kitties! We love them very much. Ezio jumped up on to my lap while we were playing board games, Hannah snapped a picture of him on the other side of the table while I was readying to take my turn. Ezio still leaving some food over, licking away the gel but not eating all the meat. Had trouble getting him to finish his food in the morning.
Less meowing when I went down to prep my cup of tea this morning. Ezio rubbed up quite close to me on the counter, and I got down on the floor to give Icarus a hug. I threatened with the spray bottle to keep Ezio nosing the food bowls as I poured the food out of the packets, that kept him at bay long enough to prepare the food and put it down. Managed to get a good split with them eating about 1m away from each other.
Fed the cats early today so that we could head out for the day. Going to leave them milk out. Left Milk out.
Lots of cuddles and snuggles in the evening once we got home. Had some trouble feeding them, but only because Ezio kept jumping up onto the counter, I had to lift him off serveral times. When I did get a food bowl down, he got his nose in before his brother, but then Icarus forced him away. The other food bowl was just sat in the open for a minute while Ezio meowed at me from back up on the counter. I just pointed at the food bowl until he spotted it. Both cats ate quickly finishing within about 30 seconds of each other.

Our friend Leo came over yesterday to play games; Ezio although scared at first was much more friendly then he has been. They ate their food with vigor, and spent a lot of time pestering us. We didn't get to cuddle up with them on the sofa, but they both got plenty of petting.

Lots of meowing this morning before we came down stairs; took up the option to feed them cat milk before feeding them properly an hour later. The beef packs were split between gravy and gel, so I gave them half each.
No problems with either of them nomming down their food. Had to spray Ezio in the face after lifting him down 3 times; he was making it really difficult to prepare the food. Icarus was very well behaved again.

Cats are fed, Ezio eating his food well again.

Ezio had no problems eating his food in the evening. Had a visit from my Dad on his way down from Rochdale; Ezio was a bit timid at first, but after we'd sat down in the kitchen he came to explore and sit on my lap.
Ezio still struggling to eat his food, had to mix in some water, and fend off his brother. He licked off all the gel no problem, but refused to nom on the meaty bits.
Kitties! Ezio was being extra friendly again this morning when I came down; I didnt' feed them until an hour later when he'd calmed down a bit. Icarus was being a bit of a scaredy cat for a chance, or at least, didn't want head pats.

Stayed in all day, tidying up, playing board games, doing chores, cooking food. Cats looked a bit confused mid day. We had them upstairs for a bit, but Ezio meowed lots when we closed some of the upstairs doors. Same when we were downstairs trying to keep them off the table. We also had to keep them out the kitchen while I was mowing the lawn, emptying the bins, and changing the litter. Switched back to the slightly more expensive wood litter, after we decided that the cheaper disintergrated too quickly. Ended up vacuuming the kitchen several times during the day.
During the afternoon Hannah fed them a portion of the cat milk each, they lapped it up in no time, definitely tasty for them. There was also a mystery involving egg-pan-water which dissapeared off the cooker. There wasn't too much water, but we don't normally see them licking or drinking plain water, so that was slightly concerning.
Evening food went down ok, Ezio didn't quite finish all of his food, and I had to move the bowl away from Icarus a few times, but they got there in the end.

Hannah's friend Roz came round today at lunch; Ezio was very friendly for once, and we gave Roz and the cats a tour of the house. Roz thinks that the cats are very cute and she loves them.

No problems feeding; although we fed them a bit later then usual. Both cats were being adorable.
From Hannah this morning: "Icarus was nudging my hand for scritches. Ezio was indifferent to my existence.", When I went down to feed them, I made sure to give them both nuzzles and headscritches before preparing food for them. There was the usual amount of excitable meowing as the food bowls went down.

Kitties!

Kitties! Cats fed ok this morning; they curled up on the sofa blanket before I left for work. There was some growling this evening after I arrived home mid-feeding. Handed back the plastic cat carriers to our friend half an hour later when they collected them from the house.
Fed cats, Ezio and Icarus have Coley to eat, and John has a bowl of wheaties with milk. So far this evening the cats have been well behaved, only knocking over a mostly empty bottle of oil.
Hannah almost fed them different packs of food today, spotting at the last moment that one bag was Tuna and the other White Fish. The cats have been meowing at us since this morning, climbing on our laps, trying to steal our snacks, and snoozing off. In the afternoon we played with the laser and had them running up and downstairs, before letting them roam freely. Ezio kept meowing at us, vying for our attention, so after several minutes of that, we took them back downstairs.

Popped out the house today to see Captain Marvel. Ezio was meowing for our attention this morning downstairs while we were waking up downstairs. Icarus has found a new spot under the table in a plastic box to watch us from. Ezio is at the moment cleaning himself on the cat tower, no more, he jumped down. Now he's on my lap, licking my hand as I type. Hr certsinly likes attention more then his brother.
Cats ate their food ok this morning. I sat in the corner of the kitchen and Ezio jumped up, so he got morning cuddles. He was meowing before that as both Hannah and I were down in the kitchen at the same time. Hannah says they don't normally meow at her like that in the morning, so maybe they're expecting me to feed them.
Fed them a little bit later; at 6:10pm, usual meowing. Icarus ate his food, walked off, and leapt up onto the cat tower. Ezio is still nomming at the time of writing.
Hannah spent the day at home recovering. The cats kept her company. Ok feeding morning and evening.
Had my parents over to visit; Ezio has been quite scared, hiding in the paper box. We managed to get him out to feed from his bowl, but he was still quite distant. After eating his food, he went back to hiding in the paper box.
Kitties! The cats kept Hannah company while I was at the cinema.

Kitties! Icarus jumped up on a chair after finishing his food this morning. Where I put the bowls, there's no direct line of sight.
The cats are adorable and Hannah and I love them to bits.
Spent day at home today with the kitties. Let them upstairs this morning, and they had fun jumping around on the bed and lookng out the bedroom window.
Hannah observed that Icarus' eye was a bit gloopy again today, and on two separate occasions cleaned out more dried stuff. The cats were dozing on and off in the bright sunshine of the windowsill, so don't know if this is normal, or something we should be worried about.
Icarus stole a buttery piece of bread off Hannah's plate while she was sat on the sofa. I chased him with the water spray bottle because of that.
Kitties! Tried to feed the kitties by putting the food out down on the ground in the evening. Did not go well. Instant carnage, Icarus got the bigger share, so after holding him back from the remains, I fed Ezio an extra 5g of dry Chicken.

Cats fed; chicken - we bought the wrong Mega meta pack - its the Cats 7+ years variety. Some poop in the litter tray, cleaned out.
"The only real difference between regular adult formula and senior formula foods is that senior foods tend to be lower in calories and have a little less protein–because too much protein can lead to some health issues in older cats."
In the evening we had guests over to play board games. As a result, there were several of us down stairs while the cats ran around under our feet. Eventually they stayed close enough to climb up onto my lap and I could give them attention while we played games up top. Later, to settle and distract them, we fed them some cat treats.
No problems with feeding this morning. Fed them in separate rooms with the kitchen door closed, then came down to check on Ezio and waited until he finished.
Let the cats upstairs to the landing while I showered, lots of meowing from Ezio while I dried.
I think he wanted to get into the rooms. Hannah cleaned out Ezio's eye this morning, Icarus's eyes seemed ok.
Used the laser to play with them a bit, Hannah sat on the floor and gave them attention while I cooked food.

Ezio threw up his dried food last night, and appeared to have ate it again by this morning. I was too tired to clean it up at the time. I've fed them the last pack of Coley again this morning. No problems with Icarus. Ezio has been licking away at the jelly but not really touching the chunks. While I was washing the sink, he was being much more forwad then usual, walking back and forth along the edge of the sink trying to get my attention.

Finished the large meat box. Both cats fed ok. Ezio still slower to eat then Icarus but only by a few minutes. I picked Icarus up before feeding, he was somewhat timid towards me, but didn't seem to mind when I scooped him up and gave him a cuddle. Ezio meowed at me when I went to the far side of the table instead of opening the cupboard to feed them.
However, in the evening, when I got home - I found the plastic remains of a jam and chocolate cake desert. One or both of the cats had eaten it. Ezio seemed much chunkier, and Icarus appeared his normal self. When it approached feeding time, I toyed with them a bit - only Icarus meowed. As I put the food down, Ezio paid no attention to it what so ever. Looks like we'd found the perpretrator. Ezio was probably on a sugar high at this point; its quite possible he's eaten his normal meal amount + another 100g in cake. After not eating his food, we allowed Icarus to continue eating Ezio's bowl, which he managed to complete 80-90% of before giving up. After cuddling a sleepy Ezio, he then pawed towards the kitchen door, and then decided to throw up repeatedly across the floor and carpet. What a troublesome cat we have (we still love you). After that, and lots of cleaning, Ezio regained some sense of normality. I got him drinking out of the water bowl, and he licked up a bit of the food left over from earlier. I imagine he's still on a sugar high and kind of hungry, but at least he appears ok. He's been meowing after us and following us around the house, with varying levels of attention and hugs. He even dozed off for a bit on our laps or beside us.
Hannah got the litter tray cleaned out and vacuumed up the kitchen. Not too messy, but clunky. We're in a pattern of changing the litter twice a week, Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Just deciding whether to feed Ezio again before bed, to make sure his energy levels are ok. In the end, I brought him downstairs and closed Icarus away, feeding 15g of Dry Tuna to Ezio to at least give him something to get him through to the morning.
Fed in the kitchen; Icarus after initially leaving Ezio to eat, walked over, growled, and started eating from Ezio's bowl. I picked Icarus up and moved him away, keeping him held in position temporarily.
Hannah thinks the cats are adorable and she loves them.

Hannah back home after her overnight trip to Wales. Been at home almost all day, had the kitchen window open which Ezio likes sniffing out of. Hannah thinks the cats are cute and she loves them. I do too. In the evening I used the laser to run the cats up and down the stairs, and then fed them some biscuit snacks afterwards.
Played around with the kitties using the laser. Both ate their food ok. Let them run around upstairs for a bit, Exio meowed for attention, and jumped up on to my lap while at the desk for attention. I got Icarus up to do the same about 10 minutes later, and he slobbered over my computer mouse.

Icarus got into the recylcling bin. Salmon coated foil was ripped apart across the floor. Plastic and things spread around the living room and kitchen. Hannah fed them both in the kitchen, but had to stop Icarus from going to Ezio's food bowl. Hannah is giving Ivarus lots of snuggles while waiting for Ezio to finish eating.

Hannah thinks the cats are cute and she loves them.
Hannah thinks the cats are cute and she loves them.

Tried feeding Ezio and Icarus together again in the kitchen, but Icarus moved in on Ezio's food so I had to put him into the living room while Ezio finished eating. Hannah suceeded in feeding them both in the evening together without incident. Later we decided to give them a mini wash after they came back from kitchen sort of wet. Hannah filled the sink with warm water and washed them from the side, we then wrapped them up in a towel and dried them off.
Hannah fed the cats in tandem this morning, in the same room, and stayed with them. Icarus didn't go for Ezio's food bowl afterwards. Attempting the same again at dinner time, results to follow shortly. Played around with them in the evening, using the laser to attract their attention, and then providing snacks for them to nom on.
This morning the cats were let upstairs and explored around and got snuggled in bed. They ate their food ok.
Both the cats decided to play Tanto Curoe Winter Romance, badly, they knocked several cards off the table while we were at the cinema.

Cats seemed happy, eating their food no problems, stayed out of our way while eating our own food.
We were late home after playing Werewolf; the cats were very excitable, I guess we woke them up coming home late. After letting them roam around upstairs for a while we shut them back downstairs and went to bed, but Ezio was meowing and scratching at the living room door so loudly that Hannah had to go down and sprinkle snacks on the floor to distract them.
More sponge destruction, the cats are getting quite skilled at sculpting wet sponges by tearing small parts off across the floor.
This morning, after Hannah got downstairs, the rascals had pulled down and opened bag of dried fish which they proceeded to defend. Icarus took a swipe and scratched my thumb. We resealed the fish and stored it away in a cupboard. Later they pulled down the plastic box the fish was previous stored in. Concerned about them getting up onto the pantry shelves and finding other food. Otherwise both cats seem happy this morning and ate their food ok.
Dear diary. We tried to walk Icarus and Ezio outside on a leash. Very sadly, when it was Ezio's turn, he escaped his leash and jumped a fence. Hannah tried to hold him from escaping, but he jumped into the next door neighbour's garden. We briefly saw him 5 minutes later in the garden, but he ran when I rattled some treats next to the fence. Since then, we've walked around the neighbourhood, climbed a few fences, and explored the back recesses of the space behind gardens in our area.
Unfortunuately, we have not found Ezio yet. We sat outside with the litter tray, a food bowl, and Ezio's favourite blanket. After the sun set, because it was very cold (12oC), we set up our motion detection cameras with the bowl and are hoping Ezio comes home safely for foods, and nuzzles, and cuddles, and head scritches... *malp* 18:50, motion on back camera, partial head. Went out and tapped food bowl like at feeding time, but whatever cat it was, ran to the end of the garden, waited for a bit, and eventually fled over the compost heap.
19:00, Hannah spotted a cat under a car two corners away. The cat was rolling around, it saw me as I approached and rolled off back towards the gardens. We got more motion on the security cameras at 7:44, Ezio can be clearly seen sniffing the food sponge and food bowl that we left outside. However, when we came out to check on him I think we scared him away. We could clearly hear him meowing, and so followed him to the fence, and into the neighbour's garden, only for him to back away from us.
Knowing that he wasn't far away, I sat outside wrapped in a blanket from 7:57 until 8:16, I was getting cold, so moved to go back inside when I saw Ezio coming over the fence. I stepped inside the kitchen and beckoned him inside, briefly moving out to pick up the food bowl and place it inside the kitchen. Once Ezio was back inside, we gave him some time to eat his food, and then gave him an extra 5g of dry cat food. We settled down to hug and nuzzle the cats, Ezio seemed a bit more distant then normal, but was happy to climb on our laps and be petted.
We love the cats very much.

Dead sponge this morning, excitable cats. Cleaned some sleep out of Ezio's right eye.

Eating ok, but excitable. Let both cats come upstairs and sniff around the bathroom and bedroom. They eventually made their way up onto the bed and the windowsill in the bedroom. After that they were still following us around quite closely, and we ended up feeding them both 15g of dry food.
No problems with feeding / eating this morning. Ezio let Hannah clean the sleep out of his eyes this morning, like the good boy he is <3.

Raw sausage scare - Icarus jumped up and nabbed a raw sausage, and Hannah had to fight Icarus in the corner to get him to drop it, and recover the sausage using a plastic box.

Ezio meowed at me when I came down, and followed me into the kitchen, meowing at my face from the window sill.
Overnight the cats knocked over and stabbed a used cooking oil bottle. At feeding time in the morning, Ezio was much slower eating his food, and we had to sit with him several times to help him finish eating. In the evening Ezio seemed to finish his food in good time while we watched from across the room.
We love the cats very much.

Had visitors over to play board games. The cats were really good, and let themselves be petted.

Kitties! Icarus has been seen clawing up the plastic covers on the cat tower.
Kitties! Late home, put snacks out around the living room for them to find.
The kitties are adorable and we love them to pieces. Whatever that means. Ezio and Icarus have been quite inquisitive this evening.
Kitties are being kitties. They ate all their food in good time. Still pooping.
Left them alone all day. Eat all their food ok. Tried out a new toy. They seem content.

Litter tray changed; one bag not quite enough for a full week, switched Tuesday evening and Saturday morning.
Sponges. Sponges everywhere. Icarus still eating about twice as fast as Ezio. No problems in the evening; got them almost sleeping on top of us while we were lying on the sofa.

While I was clearing out the litter Icarus finished and went through and sat across from Ezio, but didn't disturb him feeding as far as I can tell. I watched them while Ezio finished his food, and then let Icarus lick the bowl clean.

Got into an argument about the correct feeding order; I had the oven on to do pizza while Hannah was trying to sort out the feeing bowls. Icarus ended getting out of the kitchen and had to be pulled away from Ezio.
Watching them on the cameras; they spent most the day on the sofa sleeping. The weather has been cold, wet, icy, and generally dreary. No problems with feeding today, still separating them in different rooms. Icarus finishes well ahead of Ezio.
Ezio meowed at the door when he was done. Had to choose the door after Icarus ran through, but I chased him away.
Thing were suspiciously perfect this morning. Hannah is sure they got up to something but we havent found any evidence yet. Slight staining on one of the chairs, used fabric spray to freshen.

Found some cat vomit by the side of the sofa with some black hairs. Appointment to the vets at 11:40. Visit to the vets went ok. Had flea treatment applied to the back of their necks. The vet said they were both healthy cats. Found a ripped bag of cat treats on the floor, must have been knocked off the table while we weren't looking.

Icarus is still eating very fast, but Ezio isn't too far behind, about a minute between each other. Found and ate shortbread biscuits while we were out the house.

Visit from Alan and Sophie; initially timid but reacted well once we were settled in.

Still separating cats for feeding; Ezio is eating much faster now. Think he may have been unwell after eating plant leaves and throwing them back up.

Morning; put bowls in different rooms - Icarus under the pantry shelving, Ezio under the cat tower. Kitchen door closed; leaving them for 20 minutes and then removing Ezio's food for weighing. May attempt to feed more to him at lunch time.

Icarus aggressively eats down his food; much harder to get Ezio to stay and eat his. Had to tap the bowl to encourage him back. Took over 30 mins to eat a decent portion. Icarus would then be let back in and wolf down the remainder.

Separated cats; Ezio into front room, Icarus into kitchen.

Fed in the morning by the shelter before we adopted them.
